St Gabriel Athletic Association: Providing Christian Values Through Participation In Sports

Home to the St. Gabriel Shamrocks

​The St. Gabriel Athletic Association, an extension of St. Gabriel Catholic School, uses participation in sports to supplement the Christian values that are taught to the children of St. Gabriel. We work in conjunction with parents and coaches to provide the best possible instruction and resources to ensure a safe and positive environment for students’ athletic participation. This promotes individual and relational development among both students and parents to enhance the St. Gabriel experience.

​We work to teach students the fundamentals of each sport, and proceed to refine their skills in preparation for competition in grade school and beyond. Additionally, we aim to​:
  • Develop sportsmanship and friendships
  • Teach students to work as a team
  • Foster school spirit
  • Build self-confidence
  • Help students to maintain good health
  • Enhance Catholic values and teachings

St. Gabriel currently offer football, cheerleading, basketball, and volleyball.
Basketball
  • Bitty Basketball (Rookie) is offered to 1st and 2nd Grade.   
  • Bitty Basketball (Juniors) is offered to 3rd and 4th Grade.  
  • JV Basketball is offered to 5th and 6th grade
  • Varsity Basketball is offered to 7th and 8th Grade
Cheer
  • JV Cheer is offered to  3rd to 5th Grade
  • Varsity Cheer is offered to  6th to 8th Grade

Practice Days vary (determined by coaches) at Taylor Lauridsen Park.
Football
  • JV Football is offered to 3rd to 5th Grade
  • Varsity Football is offered to  6th- 8th Grade

Practices are Monday- Friday 4:30-6:30pm at Taylor Lauridsen Park.
Volleyball
  • Girls Minors Volleyball is offered  to 2nd to 4th Grade
  • Girls JV Volleyball is offered to 5th and 6th Grade
  • Girls Varsity Volleyball is offered to  7th and 8th Grade

4/5th Grade JV Volleyball practicing Tuesdays 7:00-8:00 pm at Taylor Lauridsen Park. 

6th Grade JV Volleyball practicing Mondays 5:30 to 6:30 pm Taylor Lauridsen Park. 

7th Grade Varsity Volleyball practicing on Mondays 6:30 to 7:30 pm Taylor Lauridsen Park

8th Grade Varsity Volleyball practicing Mondays 7:30 to 8:30 pm Taylor Lauridsen Park. 

We encourage parental participation as well! Parent volunteers have a great impact, offering a substantial resource and support base for our school and sports programs, and showing children the importance of participating in a faith-based community.
